If you're a Daft Punk fan...

This is probably one of the most awesome sites on the web. I love artists who sample and I get such a kick out of seeing just where all these samples come from. Daft Punk is known for using them like wildfire and here's a small collection of some of them.

Damn, not only do they make good music, they have excellent taste in it!

A Diary Of My Last Few Weekends

You know guys, if you're anything like me, you may spend your weekends getting drunk with all sorts of people (not these kinds of people, but people like this. By the way, The MisShapes throw a good time. If you live in the NY area, look them up.) The best part about these weekends are getting pretty drunk and dancing to really good music. Thankfully, I have a fairly good collection of most of the music they play at the clubs I go to, so I can recreate the experience at home or at a friend's house.

But, what if you don't know me?! What if you're not 21 and can't go drinking with us!? There's little else to do but download this set, get a hold of your favorite bottle of liquor, hit the lights, hit the bottle and hit play.

Download: LOVE and BEATS - A Diary Of My Last Few Weekends

Enjoy it through all midweek. Burn it to a CD and listen to it while going to work, at work or in the break room on your iPod. Bring it to a friend's house this weekend and tell them you brought "the jump off." I'm glad to help as always.

I haven't eaten all day and I just had the most insane urge for this... But that's a different story! See you guys soon and enjoy the good tunes!

AND DON'T FORGET:

"It's Great To Be Here."

Hey everyone! LOVE and BEATS is back!

Can you believe it? The 'Taco is back in full effect and I feel great! Senior Taco Action Specialist Tacologic has already started the ball rolling and the game is back on. I am in fact working on 3 brand new sets at once.

It's spring break, so time to lace up those shoes, drop a Coup d'Taco set on your mp3 player and hit the streets. I'll try and drop the new LAB set this week, hopefully before the weekend in time for everyone's drunken St. Patty's Day week celebrations.

In the mean time, huddle up next to your favorite bottle of liquor, crank up the sounds and I'll see you later in the week with something that will definetly light up your drunken weekends. So long folks!

New mix idea

So I gave it a week, but none of the other DJs are yet in the swing of things. That's okay, they will be. Meanwhile, I'm going to try to start spouting forth ideas for mixes and about music. Here's my first.

Awhile ago, a friend of mine who does music for a bar, told me that the bar was having a Risk tournament. She goes on to say that she has to now come up with a mix to play in the background during it. I thought this was an awesome idea, and plan on exploring some options.

What would be in your Risk mix?

No one expects the Coup d'Taco inquisition!

Greetings everybody, it's your now probably mostly-forgotten podcast friends Coup d'Taco. Where have we been? Sleeping. Hibernating for the winter. Regathering our collective strength in preperation for the New Coup. Stronger, Faster, Better. We've streamlined sets to an hour in length, packing only the truly finest music that the universe has to offer. And now it won't be just me running my mouth on the blog, it'll be any of our fine DJs, talking about music, new sets, promotions or what have you. I'm very excited for this, and I hope you get in the spirit soon.

To kick things off, my new set is now up. Click the link to download, or go over to the right and click the RSS or XML feed to get the information you need to get this podcasted. Get in the spirit!
