Back To The Future

A few of you caught Zanzibar's latest set, Notes From The Future, but a lot of you didn't. Good thing that it's going to be playing again this evening at around 10 PM EST. I noticed that the timing might have gotten slightly screwed up, so when I get back to Coup d'Taco studios, I'll fix the situation. But you can always check out the tracklisting on the right and download the set directly.

Zanzibar - Notes From The Future

Tomorrow and Tuesday, we'll have DJ Dexter's set going on. I'm already excited.

Pssst, pass it on

Technology was at the forefront yesterday, and Zanzibar's set, Notes From The Future, made it into my hands safely and securely. This means it'll be on today at Noon and 10 PM EST. Tune in and listen if you can. If not, it'll be available for download later today. Tomorrow, DJ Dexter.

Onwards and upwards

Lots of things are going on at Coup d'Taco, but many are currently below the surface. However, that's why I'm writing now, to give you all a taste of what's coming.

First of all, we have new music coming. Zanzibar is putting the finishing touches on his latest mix, and should be able to get it to me tonight. Provided that he does, it'll be playing tomorrow at Noon and 10 PM EST. If he doesn't, I have a treat for you all that's a little bit different... Among the big influences to get Coup d'Taco started are The Avalanches DJ sets. And I have a two hour set that DJ Dexter (formerly of The Avalanches) did for Triple J ready to go. The tentative plan is to have Dexter's set play on Friday at Noon and 10 PM EST. However, if technical difficulties prevent me from getting Zanzibar's set tonight, then it's Dexter tomorrow and Zanzibar on Friday (probably with a re-broadcast early next week due to people being gone for the 4th of July holiday).

Phew! We also have sets coming soon from Lost Luggage, jon.dus, and yours truly.

Going back to that "under the radar" stuff, Shut and I are working on coupdtaco.com. Not exactly sure when it's launching, but hopefuly in a few weeks. And even more fun, the new version of iTunes is out, and it supports Podcasting. Starting someday in July (and provided I can figure it out) we'll be podcasting and offering direct download links.

There, I blogged about it, so that means it has to come true!

More Love, More Beats

Hello. Today, a new set by Love and Beats. It'll be on at Noon and 10 PM EST. It's a two parter, with the second half being another epic DJ battle. I predict you're gonna enjoy it. The link to download will be up later today.

A Blerg success

See, that's more like it. People tuned in, enjoyed, and it was a good radio experience. Woot. And because you've all been on your best behavior, here's a link to download the set directly from You Send It.

Blerg - Doppleganger | 6-17-05

And I've heard rumors of a new Love And Beats set tomorrow... Also, if anyone listens to WLUW out of Chicago, send them an email saying you want to hear that great Coup d'Taco sound. I might as well add here that anyone that knows of an analog station that is looking for a block of fresh, eclectic stuff should get in contact with me.

Listen to Blerg. For real!

By the time you're reading this, Blerg's newest set will probably be playing. This of course means you should listen to it. You can also check out the tracklisting up on the right. And because I worked tirelessly into the night, there will be a link for a direct download later today. For real!

Listen to Blerg!

Hey everyone! Since about three of you listened to Blerg's set when it happened (yeah, I know, it was Friday) and I didn't post the set for download (my iPod is very sad) we're going to do it again. So Wednesday, we're going to be playing Blerg's Doppleganger set again. Noon and 10 PM EST. I'm not exactly sure when I can get the set up for download, so your best bet is to listen when it happens.

Blerg it up

I posted last night about Blerg's set being on today at Noon and 10 PM EST and I said I'd post more now. But I don't have a lot more to say, other than listen. She did not send me a tracklisting, so you'll have to fend for yourself until she does. I'm pretty sure that most of you savvy listeners our there will be able to figure out what's going on. There is, of course, an MP3, which I'll put up this afternoon for those that can't stream the show. Have fun!

Revenge of the Blerg

It's late, and I'm tired from mastering Blerg's latest set. I'll tell you now that it'll be on tomorrow at Noon and 10 PM EST (as is the norm) and I'll tell you more tomorrow. But first, sleep!

Guest DJ Alert!

Here in New York, it's incredibly, uncomfortably hot. Hopefully you all have some sort of climate control device that is keeping things manageable. However, here at Coup d'Taco, we're going to switch things up and get things heated up with new guest DJ ilikeyou. She and I have been talking about doing a set for awhile now, and we've finally set aside time to do it.

The set will be playing tomorrow, Wednesday June 15th, at Noon and 10 PM EST. Tracklistings and a link to download will be coming soon.

Music to download

So, did you all enjoy my set? Hope so. Tracklisting is up, incase you were curious as to what some of the songs you didn't know were. And if you didn't get a chance to listen (and won't tonight at 8 PM EST), or want to listen more, here's the link.

Tacologic - State Your Name

And for good measure, here's Zanzibar's set from yesterday.

Zanzibar - The L.A. Cultural Caesura

More of that good Tacologic music

Hey everybody, it's Friday, it's beautifully cool here in Brooklyn and I have a new set to start your weekends right. It's called Name Your State, and it should be a lot of fun to listen to. It'll be on today at Noon and 8 PM EST. Directly following the 8 PM show is a re-airing of Love And Beats' newest, which is definitely worth checking out if you haven't yet. My set and Zanzibar's latest will be available for download later today, as will my tracklisting.

Go radio go!

The L.A. Cultural Caesura by Zanzibar

As I type this, it is 10:48 AM EST. And if you're reading this blog via an RSS or XML feed, you should tune in and listen to The L.A. Cultural Caesura, which is Zanzibar's newest set. It's a bit of a departure from the classic Zanzibar sound, but it's good stuff. I'm going to post a link for download tomorrow, in hopes that lots of people will listen live. You can check out the tracklisting however.

My new set, Name Your State, will be playing tomorrow at Noon and 8 PM EST. And Love And Beats' set from last week will directly follow mine.

New Zanzibar Set

More of that hot Zanzibar action is coming at you. Today (Thursday, June 9th) at Noon and 10 PM EST. More later today, including a tracklisting and a link to download. When I sleep and then wake up. For real.

P.S. Sorry for the technical difficulties a few moments ago. Coup d'Taco really needs to invest in a mouse pad.

Scrobble 'till your heart's content

First on the docket, I want to let out a barbaric yawp to everybody within earshot, for yesterday was the most popular day in the young history of Coup d'Taco. Yaaaaaawp! Let's keep things going. Bigger and better. Up and up. New ideas are coming, new projects and DJs, all to bring you new music. Gotta love the sound of that.

Second, I'd like to invite you all to join the new Audioscrobbler community for Coup d'Taco. This is a project run by the esteemed jon.dus. It's kind of similar to how Coup d'Taco works, but not quite. Check it out yourself.

Keep up the good work!

See that? It's a chart of people listening to Coup d'Taco. And it's been on the slow and steady rise of late. To this I say, right on! Lots of thanks to everybody who has been spreading the word and pimping the station. It's a long journey, and every little bit helps. So to help it along, I made a quick and dirty little mock ad. Feel free to use it.

Also, there'll be new sets by Zanzibar and myself later this week, as well as a re-broadcast of Love and Beats' latest set.

Coup d'Taco Exclusive! jon.dus' new set

Generally speaking, the music you hear on Coup d'Taco is songs and mixes that have been released and distributed to the world. That's how it is on most radio stations. But jon.dus' latest set is an audio treat. The entire set is comprised off music that for the most part, has not seen the light of day... Until now.

jon.dus' The Kolective Coup will have its world premire tomorrow at Noon EST and Midnight EST. It's a funky, crazy, trippy set of music that you all should definitely check out. Available for download tomorrow. The setlist is up now, but it won't really mean anything, because you've never heard the songs before. So there.

If you'd like some more information about this, send jon an email at: jondus@endangeredkolectiv.net with "coup d'taco" in the subject line.
